To simplify routine tractor maintenance, John Deere has rolled out the John Deere Smart Connector and TractorPlus™ App for Compact Utility Tractors. The Smart Connector works by establishing a connection between customers' tractors and smartphones via Bluetooth. Through the use of this technology, operators can monitor tractor information – such as diagnostic codes, fuel level, and engine hours – with ease.
With the TractorPlus app, users have access to key sections of their operator's manual, in addition to parts diagrams. They can also order parts directly from the John Deere Store or their preferred dealer. Maintenance and service intervals, as well as diagnostic codes, are sorted in an easy-to-read list.
"With the new Smart Connector and TractorPlus App, compact tractor owners have easy access to a wide range of information, like service intervals, diagnostic codes, and maintenance information," said John Doyle, John Deere product marketing manager. "The TractorPlus App also provides coverage mapping and easy access to operator's manuals, parts diagrams, and parts ordering all through your phone."
The app provides coverage mapping via users' smartphone location tracking system to reduce overlap while mowing, plowing, and spraying. It can also function as an extended dashboard to any tractor by displaying real-time machine and job information.
The John Deere Smart Connector can be easily plugged into the Service Advisor Port on any compact utility tractor. The process does not require any tools and takes a matter of minutes.
The Smart Connectors are compatible with most 2-Series, 3-Series, and 4-Series CUT models. To purchase, customers can contact their local John Deere dealer or visit the John Deere Store.
